Energy Saving Refrigerators
Whirlpool side by side refrigerator makes a high pitched noise when motor is running, any ideas?
Just bought this refrigerator from Best Buy 1 week ago. The cooling works fine. I notice that when the motor is running that there is this faint high pitched humming noise that is rather annoying. I don't know if it is normal or not. I read that some people think this is normal due to the energy saving characteristics of the fridge. I wonder if I should have it replaced or get another brand. My refrigerators in the past make the obvious low humming noise which I don't mind. Any ideas what is going on and what I should do?
The high pitched noise may be coming from the freezer fan and this noise is not normal. Like others have said, the best thing to due is to have it looked at while still under warranty.
