Lay out your system so that it declines slightly (about 1/4" of fall every 10) toward the bottom corner of the panel that feeds from your pool equipment. This is needed to ensure proper drainage for winterizing.The three mounting straps provided should be positioned with one in the center of the panel, and one 5" in from each header.Mark the bottom row lag bolt locations. Position the first strap and drill an 1/8" pilot hole, remove strap, apply roofing mastic to the pilot hole, reposition the strap, and screw the lag bolt through the strap into the roof. Install remaining two straps the same way.If this is a multiple panel system, connect all the panels using the rubber couplers and hose clamps provided with your system. Make sure each coupler is pushed on at least an inchpast the raised ribs of the header adapters. Position hose clamps 1/4" from theend of the couplers and tighten.Proceed following the procedure in Step 3 until all panels are installed.Follow instructions in the installation manual that came with your SunGrabber System, to complete yourinstallation. |

Manual By-Pass Valve for SunGrabber A/G Solar Heating System $69.99 Regulate flow to your solar panelsystem, reduce excessive backpressure on your pool pump.Diverter Valve Kit Includes:1 ball valve2 PVC Ts2 nipples4 barb hose adapters1 roll of thread tapeAdditional Parts Required (available at local hardware store)2 lengths of flexible pool hose (1-1/2" x required length)4 1-1/2" hose clampsTools Required (not included): flat screwdriver (or 1/4" socket driver), adjustable wrench.Instructions:Apply about three wraps of thread tape around one end of each nipple and thread them into the ball valve.Repeat the application of tape around the other two ends of the nipples, thread on the TEES, and hand tighten.Repeat the application of around the threads of the combination hose adapters and thread each into the Ts as shown. Use an adjustable wrench to tighten (being careful not to over-tighten).Turn off your pool pump.Block the inlet and outlet of your pool using the plugs supplied by your pool manufacturer or a suitable alternative.Unhook the hose fromthe "Inlet" adapter of your solar panel and attach it to the "From Filter" adapter of the valve assembly.Install a hose from the "To Panel Inlet" adapter of the valve assembly to the "Inlet" adapter on your solar panel.Unhook the hose from the "Outlet" adapter of your solar panel and attach it to the "From Panel Outlet" adapter of the valve assembly.Install a hose from the "To Pool" adapter of the valve assembly to your pool inlet.Make sure to tighten all hose clamps.Make sure the valve is in the open position.Unblock the inlet and outlet of your pool.Turn your pump on and check the hose clamps and plumbing for leaks. If there is a leak at a clamp you will need to loosen the hose clamp, push the hose further onto the adapter and re-tighten the clamp.Take note of the pressure on your pressure gauge with the manual valve all the way open.Closethe ball valve slowly until you see approximately 8 PSI more than when the valve was all the way open. This is your optimum valve setting for your solar system.Make a mark on the ball valve with a permanent marker, and always re-open the valve to this point when activating the solar system. |

The caps and bases in between panels will have two overlapping straps.Install the 32" stretchy vinyl straps around the LOWER couplers following the same procedure outlined in Steps1 thru 4. These straps secure the panel ends while allowing for expansion and contraction of your system. |
