I used a different model, but first I want to comment both are interested in: The Solio can recharge your "battery of 1600mAh to 155 mA, which means that it will take about 10 hours of direct sunlight to recharge when drained. The Freeloader can reload your "small 1000mAh battery at 120mA in about 8 hours, but has a capacity of approximately 38% less. battery capacity is what can be stored when not connected to it. Some or all of this stored energy can then be transferred to the device. What all Media: Check the mobile phone battery mAh capacity then dividing by the solar cell output - which is how long it will take in hours of sunlight directly for recharging. This is the one I used in the past and found it perfect for my needs - I borrowed it from a friend: http://www.earthtechproducts.com/p7.html Pros: It has almost 3 times the output of 320mA solar panels to recharge things faster. It is much lighter at only 85 g vs 450 g for Freeloader. Cons: No internal battery so when not connected to anything that is gathering energy for later use. general search for "live rated Sunlight" and then use that number to determine how many hours on a sunny day it takes to recharge so that you are attaching to it. If the unit has an internal battery You can use the same math to determine how much you can store.
