can I connect 2 small propane tanks to a 30″ gas stove?
let’s say, I m converting my 30″ Natural Gas stove for propane gas, can I connect 2 (barbeque gas grill type) tanks to my 30″ gas stove?, whats the working pressure that is required to operate my 30″ stove?, on average 3 meals a day cooking , how long will it last the gas per tanks.
propane gas companys wants me to buy the gas tank and they are expensive , also if I rent it they want me to refill it twice a year but just for cooking I will not use that much.
that’s why I’m cosidering using the 2 small 20 gallon propane tanks, is there any safety concerns why I shouldn’t do it?

Yes you can. You will have to replace the orifice on each of your burners and on your pilot light, or your house will get covered in black soot. Simply put, propane requires a larger opening than natural gas does. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO DRILL THEM OUT YOURSELF!!! Remove them from the stove and take them to your local propane gas appliance distributor and they can probably drill them correctly or offer you new replacements. (they are cheap)
You can cap-off your pilot light if you want to conserve your gas. I found that a cutting-torch striker works great for lighting the burners and the replacement flints are cheap also.
And, as another poster mentioned, run your gas line from OUTSIDE of your house and use a regulator on the bottle.
I do not suggest that you hook the two bottles together. Hook only one bottle up and keep the other as a spare. This will give you time to get the empty bottle refilled while the other is in use.
