Do you have solar panels on the roof of the house?
Increasingly, power now out of these cells to generate new and cheaper as well, could save a lot on electricity bills and even sell the surplus to public service provider.
We have applied for them, because we trying to be more environmental, but the savings (and in some cases, making) money is very scarce. With our bills and such (and the cost of equipment), we will 8 years to pay for the system ... and then we'll also pay monthly to the utility company! We are aware that the groups do not last forever and the roof also needs to be replaced. The government gives back to their duty, for certain units in size, but not significant enough to pay the entire system! Thus, if you want to be the environment, is a good investment. If you want to make money ... invest in the market!
