Can I get my laundry room working on solar energy alone?
I have a room that has a washer and dryer. I really want to that works only on batteries charged with solar panels (network) What system will I need and what type and size battery panels should I change my laundry room working on solar energy. Only three loads of laundry once a week.
If the washer is front loading, and changes your dryer to a plastic-lined closet with a small dehumidifier, which would save the cost in reduced solar panel and battery cost. But they need not be ability to run both washer and dryer at a time, only the bigger load. (That's why you need to change to a small dehumidifier in a closet lined with plastic ... a clothes dryer as much power demands). Front loading washing machines will reduce their electric charge directly, but also reduce the amount of water left in the laundry at least drying of the energy needed. My system has an initial load of 400 watts, so I need a battery pack to set the starting load much, but my load is 220 watts continuous. Now this is supported almost entirely by a large battery and 540-watt inverter that converts 12 volts to 120 V 60 Hz A wash load used 250 hours watt (up to 300), and drying takes about 500 watt-hours. Using a top-loading washing machine can use 500 watt hours, but also demand more current. Using a clothes dryer would be unthinkable. If you use the system more frequently with small amounts of energy required for each use, reducing the amount of energy battery you need. That's why we want to reduce your need for energy to minimum. A battery is sold with a number of ampere hours. When you look for more Watts, remember that ampere-hours multiplied by 12 to get watt-hours, so that a battery of 100 amp-hours stored watt 1200 hours. A large discharge Battery deep enough to wash and dry one load of clothes (or nearly dry) depending on how much sun power is collecting. If you want 100 hours of recharge amp deep discharge battery for use the next day, you need to have enough solar panels to provide 100 amps of power for the average winter day.
