Geothermal heating and cooling technology
Durability
Geothermal heat pumps are durable and require little maintenance. They have fewer mechanical components than other systems, and most of those components are underground, sheltered from the weather. The pipeline groundwater used in the system is often guaranteed to last 25 to 50 years and is virtually free of worries. The components inside the house are small and easily accessible for maintenance. The hot and cold air is circulated through ducts, and in a forced air regular system.
Since Geothermal systems have no outside condensing units like air conditioners, they are quieter to operate.

How they work?
Remember, a geothermal heat pump not create heat by burning fuel, like an oven does. But in winter heat builds up naturally on Earth through a series of tubes, is called a loop, installed below the surface of the earth or submerged in a pond or lake. Fluid circulates through the loop and carries heat to the house. There, an electrically powered compressor a heat exchanger concentrate the Earth's energy and release inside the house at a higher temperature. Channeling distributes heat to different rooms.
In summer, it reverses the process. The underground loop indicates excess heat in the house and allows it to be absorbed by the Earth. The system cools your home in the same way that a refrigerator keeps food cool - by drawing heat from the inside, not blowing cold air.
The geothermal loop that is buried underground is typically made of high density polyethylene, a plastic disk that is remarkably resilient, but it allows heat to pass through efficiently. When installers connect sections of pipe, heat fuse the joints, making the connections stronger than the pipe in yes. Geothermal Tax Credits
An exciting new credit tax is available to homeowners and commercial buildings to install geothermal heating and cooling systems through Power improvement and extension of the Act of 2008 (HR 1424). HR 1424 offers a one-time tax credit of 30% of the total investment for homeowners who install residential ground loop or ground water geothermal heat pumps .. A credit of 10% of the total investment is also available (no maximum) for a system installation commercial.
To qualify, systems must meet or exceed EnergyStar requirements and be installed after December 31, 2007. While the units installed 2008 are subject to a ceiling of $ 2,000 in credit, the units installed from 2009 through 2016 are eligible for full credit. Homeowners can apply for credit by completing the Renewable Energy section of credits on their tax forms for 2008. For taxpayers who are subject to tax alternative minimum, which can claim the credit on your taxes for next year. No proof of purchase will be necessary, however, in case of an audit, owners are encouraged to keep a detailed invoice of their purchase on file. The contractor that sells and installs the product must indicate the purchase as a "heat pump geothermal "on the invoice and that" exceed the Energy Star requirements in effect today.
