solar fountain pump
I have a "copper solar cascade water fountain and want to know exactly how the magnetic coupling work
Sealing solar-powered motor driving a pump impeller through magnetic coupling. I do not know if the driver is supposed to be magnetized or not. Mine is and does not work most of the time. Perhaps a rotating magnet in the engine is supposed to be non-magnetic drive impeller in the pump. I wonder if this is the way it is supposed that works.
Because the source is solar powered pumps are a brushless DC motor attached to a propeller. Brushless motors to work permanent magnets on the rotor. A small controller chip and sealed power transistors in the main body of the unit after the stator electromagnets all sealed in the body inside the main engine. The controller chip creates a rotating magnetic field in the stator which in turn causes the rotor to rotate. The motor may be failing because the rotor is properly aligned and not binding. Check that the rotor can rotate freely within the motor housing and not hit the side.
