All solar lights, regardless of their purpose, are equipped with a solar panel. All who have heard talk about solar lights knows - after all that is what makes sunlight. However, in my experience, most people are unaware that not all solar panels are created equal. There are three specific attributes of the groups that I like to keep in mind when I am considering target = "_blank" title = "Solar Lights"> solar lights: the structure, size, and the connection to light.
1. Structure. There are several different types of solar panels, but only three are the most commonly used in solar lighting industry: polycrystalline, mono crystalline and amorphous. polycrystalline panels are made of solar cells that consist of a series of small silicon crystals. They can be recognized by a sliver of metal visible, type of grain. Crystal Panels These panels are more common and less expensive. Mono composed of homogeneous single crystal silicon cells. Monocrystalline silicon, the arrangement of atoms in glass is continuous and uninterrupted. Can be identified by a color, even outside. Due to its uniform structure, these solar panels are more efficient and therefore more expensive. Amorphous, unlike of crystalline silicon solar panels are not made of glass, but rather a homogeneous thin layer of silicon atoms (usually sprayed on metal, glass or plastic.) Due to the thin, these groups generally have to be larger in size to keep as much power as crystalline. However, amorphous panels have a structural advantage to the crystalline panels: they are able to capture a broader spectrum of light, which in turn makes them more tolerant to limiting conditions light, as like cloudy days. These panels are often used in the safety of sunlamps.
2. Size. When it comes to solar light, size matters - the bigger ones are more powerful. Believe it or not, the explanation is very logical. The larger the group, the more sunlight will be able to absorb at once, the faster the lights charged. This attribute is important in areas with limited sunlight. However, Bigger is not always better. A huge solar panel can not be aesthetically pleasing. So if your solar lights get plenty of sun during the day, a small panel do the job.
3. Connecting to light. This attribute refers to how the solar panel is connected to light. Many of the solar panels are installed directly on top of light, while others are connected via a cable. This feature becomes important when it comes to practicality. Cables may be unnecessary for outdoor solar lights that receives lots of sun exposure during the day, but vital for any sunlight or interior lighting path placed in a shady spot. In this case, only the solar panel is connected to the light through a cable needs to be placed in direct sunlight.
When it comes to solar panels in solar lights, no single best choice I can recommend because their selection will depend a number of factors including, functionality, placement, and even price.
