The importance of thin film solar panels
What are thin film solar panels, and what could possibly be so exciting about them? Why are so important to the future of alternative energy and solar energy on this planet?
The film solar panels thin work the same way as regular solar panels not the only difference is that they are much thinner and require far less materials and energy for construction.
This might not sound very dramatic but it really is. This is a breakthrough in solar technology.
Why Solar Panels thin film so important?
The thin film solar technology is considered a breakthrough because, until now, the two obstacles that have prevented solar energy and solar technology to become energy suppliers have been the main stream 1. the cost of producing, and 2. quickly problems in mass producing them.
Both problems have been resolved. This paves the way for rapid expansion of clean energy in the form of the solar energy.
What is the thin-film solar technology?
The thin film solar technology is a method of making extremely thin films of photovoltaic material on a thin layer of backup support.
This is possible thanks to new inventions, such as solar ink. A photovoltaic material is dissolved in a solution, which is then as printer ink. Then print, similarly to how to print books.
Since the invention of ink solar photovoltaic material is possible to print thin layers of tissue in plastic or metal. This printing process is extremely fast, allowing you to mass produce solar panels at high speed and in a fraction of the cost.
Whereas in the past, Solar panels were bulky and heavy serious amount, the thin film solar panels weigh almost nothing and take almost no space. This means that the solar panels now can be produced only 5 percent of the cost compared to our old bulky solar panels.
Uses of thin-film technology
The ability to print literally solar panels on the fabric, plastic and metal has opened new horizons in the application of solar energy.
