What size solar panel that I need to feed a small extractor?
I'm in the process of building a heating system passive for my house. My house has a large enough space tour under a dark gray tin roof, which heats up tremendously. I am thinking of buying small extractors and installed so that the channel hot attic air down into the rooms through pipes that come into the rooms through ceiling ports. I want to be able to amateur solar panels, so the sun does automatically to blow hot air down into the attic. I live in southern New Zealand, with temperatures, sunlight hours, and the intensity comparable to Northern California. What size solar panel do you think they would have to ensure proper functionality? Thanks for your advice. I am completely open about performance specifications fan heaters, if necessary, that you even build my own. Everything you need make an air scoop. Every little bit helps.
I've seen about 24 volts DC, 18 Watt fans used to ventilate a portable toilet, and it seems to move a good amount of air. You may do well with 40 watts of solar power and a pair of fans of this size.
