Is this possible to do a PIR 12V and a reflector of 240 one?
I have a solar / battery car mounting system, and want to run an off - PIR security light that uses 12 volts. Is it possible to buy a 240 Pir Security Light (pretty cheap to buy), and the change to work with a 12V source? I get 12V 50watt halogen bulbs no problem, the PIR sensor i can not find. Does anyone know where I can get one of or if it is possible to change the PIR circuit to accept a 12V instead of 240V network? Cheers
Absolutely not. The element that lights has a certain amount of electrical resistance (ohms) versus voltage to be used. The resistance of a 12v is not suitable for 240 and immediately burn when used.
