Im going to backpack through a state from east to west. any important things to know?
So Im going to go backpacking, almost grinding by myself. Im tired of stressing about debt and bad credit for what I thought as I have nothing goin on with my life i should make a trip and reconnect myself. im not im taking a tour car. I have the main essence but not a lot of money. I have a pack a good pair of boots, a knife shop with pins for blisters, flash of light shower is solar powerd bag, so you can take a hot shower from a water bottle clothes, but not much, wire cutter and the force of will. Is there anything else you really need besides food and what I see and what I can do odd jobs on the road. im taking a bus to New York, Ohio and then walk to Cali or Portland are not sure, however, is more or less going to be a straigh shot through Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska, Wyoming, Utah and Idaho, depending on where I decide to go. any suggestions?
I know you want to pre-empty, but I would strongly recommend a cell phone prepayment. Just put a small amount of credit on it and only use it when you're in an emergency situation - which can save your life. Maps the path which he intends to be a good idea - hiking / topographic maps are the best, but even a road map is better than no map. Remember to eat something every 10-20 miles (this is approximately every 3-6 hours), even if only half of a chocolate bar. How will you be getting access to drinking water? If you plan use of untreated water sources, you'll want to have team camp stove to boil water, iodine tablets, or one of those UV pens. Keeping your energy up will be crucial. I try to get through the Rockies before the end of September unless you are an experienced hiker with plenty of cold weather gear. Good luck!
