Solar / Wind.?
Has anyone installed solar panels / wind Tubin on the roof of his house yet. My utility bills have increased again, and I'm thinking about taking the plunge. I wonder just how much power these systems can provide alterative, (lay Mans terms - kettle, tv / computer, dryer, washing machine, heating ???), Or is it just a light bulb once a week? Can you make a profit by selling power to the network? Any coments would be very apprieciated positive.
There Grid-Tie and grid tie systems not based on what you want to install. A grid connected system is tapped into power lines and nourishes your unused energy back to the local power company for a credit balance in your electricity bill. A grid connected system does not resell the unused energy to the electric company, but would be a closed system for their own use. In this type of system you want to have additional storage capacity to keep energy captured. More efficient solar panels on the market today are as 17% efficiency in capturing energy, however, had to invent new cells that are up to 43% efficiency (which means you can use less they are so efficient, also saving space). Linked to Grid systems usually will cost $ 20k +, while the network is not tied systems will cost less to installation. Your savings may vary depending on how many groups set off the amount of energy it consumes, making it difficult to calculate your monthly savings. Witihin typically associated with network systems, your electric bill will be less than $ 10 a month and you should be able to power everything in your house (dryers, washing machines, refrigerators, Air Conditioning / heating, etc.).
