What, in your opinion the best science fiction novel and series?
I really liked Solaris by Stanislaw Lem, but do not think the main theme of the novel is not science fiction meant "science fiction". Sorry!
I tend to prefer "soft" science fiction to "hard" science fiction (ie, the focus is more on the characters and the story). When I think the best science-fiction I have read - and I've enjoyed most - these come immediately to mind: * Robert Heinlein, in particular, 'Stranger in a Strange Land' and 'The Moon is * Douglas Adam's 'a Harsh Mistress' Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy "(trilogy in five parts) * Philip K. Dick, in particular" Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? "* Doomsday Orson Scott Card's Ender 'Game' series * Connie Willis', 'book' (I love her use of time travel!) * Ray Bradbury's 'Martian Chronicles', and collected stories * Isaac Asimov, "I, Robot" (I have not read his "Foundation of the books" ... yet) * Dan Simmons 'Hyperion' If you like "hard" science fiction (which focuses much more in science and concepts), consultation of Larry Niven Ringworld "."
