i have a soleus ky32 u air con.IT MADE APOPPING noise when i turned it on then went dead .?

Ichecked the fuses they seem okay .I am getting juice to the black & white wires inside the machine.
how do i test the capasitor?
Talked with my son he said it didnt make apopping noise they just moved it to another loc. & it wont start. I dont see any burn marks where anything blew .Thanks for your help. Jim

The compressor capacitor may have popped, or one of the control relays, or the circuit board itself.
Check the microfarads or continuity of the Capacitor.
Unplug the unit and pull the circuit board and look on the back side for black soot or signs of an open circuit.
The relays will have to be tested with the unit energized.
If the PTAC is over 10 years old, drop a buck and get a new one.
Will cost more to repair than a new unit, unless you can DIY.
